Online Home Office Courses with TLC
Accessible, flexible and achievable
In order to obtain a Home Office Personal Licence, our online courses provides trainees with the opportunity to access their course when and where it suits them, with the flexibility to study around work and home commitments. TLC E-learning is available through a web browser on your computer and an app on your smartphone or tablet.
Each trainee has a general Home Page and a personalised Dashboard.
Every online course includes a “How to Use” section with information about web browser access and how to install and use the Moodle mobile app on smartphones or tablets. There is a “Glossary” of commonly used words, phrases and acronyms which are hyperlinked throughout the course.
The e-Book contains the main course contents
Pages within the e-Book
Pages within the e-book have a navigation menu on the right hand side so you can choose to move on page by page, or jump back and forwards if you need to refresh your knowledge.
The left hand navigation menu allows trainees to move between the different sections of the course
There are quizzes throughout the e-books so trainees can check their current understanding of a subject and any areas where they may need to revise for assessments. The quizzes are a mix of true and false questions, multiple choice, free text, drag and drop into paragraphs, and label diagrams.
Assessments are online and can be taken at a place of your choice, providing it is private and quiet with a good internet connection. TLC will invigilate the assessments in exam conditions and you must have a webcam that remains on for the duration of the assessment.
The assessments are timed and trainees can attempt them once. If they have not competed the assessment in the allotted time, all existing answers are automatically submitted
There is an additional layer of security for online assessments. The invigilator will inform the trainee which assessment they are sitting and provide the access password at the time of the assessment.
As soon as assessments are submitted, trainees will know if they have achieved the standard required to obtain a certificate
