Delegates will take part in a dosing/administration workshop and will be allowed to perform a variety of administration techniques under the course tutor’s supervision. (Note: live animals are NOT used on this course). The course is designed to be very integrated teaching, during which delegates are encouraged to take an active part in the day’s sessions. It is both interactive and friendly, and delegate numbers are limited to twelve so that you benefit from a small, supportive group environment.
In addition to the above, this heavily practical course will cover a number of dosing procedures that can be performed by the PIL AB technician. It is an excellent foundation for researchers who want to expand their basic laboratory techniques, making them an invaluable part of any in vivo research team. It also highlights the legal aspects on which PIL AB techniques are allowed to be performed. LASA CPD points are available for attendance.
You will update and refresh your knowledge of the following areas
- New updates in legislation and good practice guidelines
- The preparation, use and maintenance of equipment and dosing materials
- Which size needles, syringes and consumables to choose for different techniques
- Dealing with unexpected adverse effects
- Handling and restraint
- Sampling and aftercare
